My design process begins with deep immersion in the subject matter — I need to understand the emotional core of a project before making any visual decisions. From there I establish a clear visual intention, develop the language of the piece through typography and color, iterate until the design and the feeling are in full alignment, then stress-test it across all platforms it needs to live on.
My design process:
1️⃣ IMMERSION — Absorb the subject deeply first. The book, the brand, the energy, the FEELING of what something needs to be before a single visual decision is made.
2️⃣ INTENTION SETTING — Define what the design must COMMUNICATE emotionally before worrying about aesthetics. What should someone FEEL when they see this?
3️⃣ VISUAL LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT — Typography, color palette, imagery that serves the emotional intention. Not decorating — translating feeling into visual language.
4️⃣ ITERATION — Build, step back, assess, refine. Multiple versions until the design and the intention are in alignment.
5️⃣ INTEGRATION CHECK — Does this work across platforms? Cover? Social? Web? Thumbnail?
